The successful candidate possess a BSEE and have 5+ years experience and demonstrated ability in developing and supporting power supply or power systems with embedded firmware. Experience with high reliability and military applications power levels >1KW, AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC desired. The individual must understand and assist in the development of switch-mode power supplies.

A background in new product development for embedded microprocessor based systems with experience developing and designing of firmware for electronics to provide control of hardware based power systems is required. Will require a working knowledge of the TI TMS320F28335 microcontroller or similar TI part and associated TI tools. Experience with J1939 CAN communication and the ability to create PC based GUI for communication testing of communication buses needed. Must be knowledgeable in the use of oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters and other hardware test equipment to support trouble shooting of the microcontroller and hardware interfaces. Ability to interpret hardware schematics and designs is required. Successful candidate will have proficient software and hardware troubleshooting abilities. Ability to work utilizing customer specifications and interfacing with power engineers to determine the proper operation of the project is required. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and experience working at or with military requirements or military prime contractors is preferred.  Experience with rugged/military designs, thermal packaging and layout of power electronics is preferred. Good writing and communication skills including technical presentations, technical write-ups, analysis, test procedures and reports, etc. are required. Will be responsible for determining test requirements to troubleshoot, monitor, validate and qualify hardware products.
