The Magnetics Design Engineer is responsible for the design of new products from conception up to full production. Will support and implement AC Power electronics products that support high reliability AC/DC converter systems including but not limited to transformers, filters and energy storage devices from PC board mount to kilowatt classes. Develop estimates based on customer Statements of Work (SOW) and performance specifications. Work directly with all departments as technical advisor to improve product flow. Team members role’s are defined uniquely for each project, including roles as project lead depending on the interest and capability of the individual. There is opportunity for growth and development of coworkers and supporting staff to improve internal capabilities. Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field, preferably with at least 10 years of experience in transformer and magnetic devices is required. Diverse knowledge of transformer and inductor core types and applications from DC to MHz applications and the ability to work with both 60 and 400Hz fundamental frequency’s as well as SMPS frequency applications is required. Experience in Aerospace/high reliability environments including MIL-PRF-27 devices is preferred. Must meet eligibility requirements for access to export controlled data.
