About the job:  As a Program Manager at Espey, you’ll be entrusted with the stewardship and orchestration of the design, prototyping, development, and long cycle manufacturing of state-of-the-art transformers and power supplies destined for both military and industrial applications.   Immerse yourself in the dynamic role, where collaboration knows no bounds, guiding a diverse product portfolio across multiple customers from inception to full-scale production.  Unlock your engineering prowess, business acumen, and problems solving expertise as you navigate every facet of the product life cycle to watch your products come to life.

Key Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Lead the short and long term full scale program management & execution of assigned products to ensure on-time, on-schedule, and on-budget execution & fulfilment
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, internal teams, and senior management to provide progress updates, report on key performance indicators, and address any issues or concerns that arise during the course of business
  • Analyze customer requirements & work closely with internal teams to ensure a clear understanding of performance standards & customer needs
  • Negotiate details & schedules with internal stakeholders and customers to align on design, prototype, and delivery schedules to align production activities with program milestones and requirements
  • Ensure assigned programs comply with a complex matrix of regulations and standards, including those related to export controls, ITAR, DFARS, and cybersecurity to ensure full compliance with applicable regulations and mitigate any risks of non-compliance
  • Identify and mitigate risks that could impact the successful execution of programs, such as supply chain disruptions, quality issues, schedule delays, or cost overruns; Develop risk management plans and implement strategies to address potential risks proactively
  • Facilitate adaptation to changes of requirements, specifications, or other circumstances as it occurs including assessing the impact of proposed changes, obtaining approvals as needed, and implementing changes while minimizing disruptions
  • Act as liaison between company and customers ensuring that the terms and conditions of legally binding contracts are fulfilled by both parties.
  • Confer with internal teams, reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations for implementation by division or department administrative personnel concerned.
  • Use MS Office tools to develop project schedules, briefings, meeting minutes, trip reports, and project cost and technical volumes.
  • Monitor the cost, schedule, and performance of assigned projects and provides risk mitigation plans and course corrections as required to maximize project efficiency and performance
  • Facilitates the development and execution of product requirements reviews, design reviews, test readiness reviews, preliminary and final production readiness reviews, and acceptance test reviews
  • Prioritize and direct workflow across departments within assigned project scope; work with operations to ensure that major milestones are met for program completion, or that changes in schedule are communicated to the customer in a timely fashion
  • Support quoting department in development of quotes by responding to RFQs from the customer, monitoring quote status and progress, and engaging in dialogue with customer at all phases of quoting
  • Request and/or approve amendments to, or extensions of, Purchase Orders; prepare purchase changes, progress reports, and other exhibits that may be required to facilitate customer requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Operations Management, Business Planning, Engineering or equivalent area of study and/or minimum of 5 years equivalent job experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in project/program management, with increasing levels of responsibility, program value and complexity.
  • Demonstrated the ability to lead a program lifecycle, from concept through delivery. Strong disciplines in customer development, scheduling, Stage Gate management, and program financial management
  • Must be US citizen with ability to secure a US Government security clearance; Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for access to export controlled data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in ruggedized products for Military & heavy industrial magnetics or power electronic applications
  • Experience with magnetics, transformers, inductors, or MILSPEC products for airborne, ground mobile, or Naval applications
  • Knowledge of ANSI/IEEE standards and experience with military standards such as MIL-E-917
  • Comfortable navigating complexity and troubleshooting unique problems; requires critical thinking, innovation, determination & resilience, and cross-functional partnerships in a fast paced, high demand environment
  • Competencies include project management, team leadership, independence balanced with strong cross-functional collaboration skills, bias for action, creativity, engineering prowess, & strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Program Management Institute PMP certification or equivalent training
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, technical drawings and prints, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Familiarity with EPICOR and CRM software, as well as Microsoft Suite of Products.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. Government contracting including FAR/DFAR is preferred for this position.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers
  • Possess a strong understanding of accounting, contracts, supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing principles
  • Demonstrate an understanding of export regulations is beneficial.
