Porter

The ideal candidate works well independently, has good time management skills and provides support to the Maintenance team as needed. Position entails keeping assigned areas of office and/or factory clean, including the washrooms. They will collect and dispose rubbish and ensure all assigned areas are free from clutter and safe. Candidate keeps entrances of assigned areas free of debris and snow during the winter.

Electronics Technician

Successful candidate must have an Associates Degree and the experience and desire to utilize analog and digital measurement equipment to test and troubleshoot power supplies and other electronic assemblies. Must be a self starter and capable of working with the engineering staff performing design development and product verification testing on power conversion equipment. Excellent electronic test and troubleshoot skills required. Electronics assembly and repair skills desired. 2+ years related experience desired.

Paint Sprayer

The ideal candidate will have minimum 2 years’ work experience in industrial paint spraying of manufactured products. Candidate must be familiar with the entire finishing process including preparation of work surface, selection and mixing of coating to produce desired viscosity, maintenance and cleaning of all spray equipment including HVLP paint guns, housekeeping and organization of work area. The expectation is that work will be performed in a consistent manner to cover product quickly and evenly with appropriate coating. The ability to read drawings, bill of materials, and specifications is a plus. This position may lift 35 to 50 lbs. consistently throughout the day. Use of respirator is required and candidate must pass a respirator fit test.

Electrical Test Engineer

Seeking a Test Engineer with experience working with transformer systems or related technologies (e.g. electromagnetics, induction systems, etc.), including recent experience with testing and troubleshooting of customized transformers.  The ideal candidate will have excellent technical writing skills, including the ability to develop Acceptance Test Procedures (e.g. test set-ups, equipment selection, pass/fail criteria, test results), and the knowledge to develop department safety procedures. Must be skilled in the use of test equipment such as: oscilloscopes, power quality meters, insulation resistance tester, high potential tester, phase rotation meters, digital test equipment, data acquisition equipment, and other electrical test equipment. Will support test personnel to setup and complete required testing and will analyze existing test equipment to determine test setups. Will need to specify and recommend new test equipment when needed. Ideal candidate will provide technical support to customers and will act as the interface between Engineering and Production.

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required and five years of previous experience is preferred.

Lead Solderer II/Assembler

Must have the ability to read blue prints. Supervisor- Impregnation Dept.

Espey Mfg. & Electronics Corp. is currently seeking a Supervisor for the Impregnation department. The sucessful candidate will supervise and coordinate the activities of the employees who are responsible for encapsulating electrical and electronic parts, components, and assemblies with epoxy or plastic material to protect them from damage and deterioration. Will review production schedules to ascertain work load and prepare schedules and priorities for work. This candidate will be responsible for controlling and maintaining the material safety data sheets for the entire plant. Will design, plan layout, and oversee employees engaged in constructing, controlling, and improving equipment to carry out chemical processes.

Associates degree is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of related experience in electronics and/or a military setting is required. Should have training and experience in any or all of the following: epoxy compounds, plastics, varnish and oils, high temperature insulation, silicones, rubber compounding, molding techniques, electroplating, and ecology.

Strategic Sourcing Agent

Espey is currently seeking an experienced Supply Chain Professional with knowledge of mechanical and electrical components. Basic knowledge of electronics parts and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) is preferred.

Environmental Test Technician

The successful candidate must have experience performing tests on various electronic components and have the ability to interpret and follow standard test methods (MIL, ASTM, etc.), customer purchase specifications, internal test procedures, work instructions, technical schematics, and engineering drawings to perform testing on products in production as well as qualification units and prototypes for risk mitigation. This includes mechanical/fluid test setups, electrical test setups, data acquisition equipment, thermocouples, transducers, controllers and control loops etc.

Supplier Quality Control Engineer

Espey is currently seeking a Quality Control Engineer to interface with vendors for audits and surveillance.  Will be responsible for reviewing all POs before issuance to ensure required quality flow downs from customer PO to vendor are executed as well as communicating any First Article Inspections or special quality notes.  Will be the Quality Control liaison for vendor non-conformance and Corrective Action Reports.  Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience is preferred.

Engineering Test Specialist

The successful candidate will complete test setup, troubleshooting, data collection and analysis; drafts and submits test reports for customer submittals. Will produce, review and edit documentation such as work instructions, ATPs, QTPs, safety protocols, workflow diagrams and test cell SOPs.  Will be responsible for determining test requirements to maintain, repair, troubleshoot, monitor, and operate high voltage electrical systems including, but not limited to, transformers, switching stations, circuit breakers and stored energy systems.  Will review and analyze a variety of engineering data, proposals, customer specifications, documents, and reports to determine testing requirements and will then provide input into proposals as needed.  The Engineering Test Specialist consults with design engineers to ensure that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application, and recommend revisions, as appropriate.  Will regularly interface with Engineering, Production, and with customers.

Bachelors degree or related equivalent experience is preferred.  Previous experience with the use of test equipment such as: oscilloscopes, power quality meters, insulation resistance testers, high potential testers, phase rotation meters and digital test equipment is required.  Experience in troubleshooting electrical circuits, circuit boards and systems is also required.  Some travel will be required, up to 10% annually.

Material Planner

Espey is adding a Material Planner to join our Supply Chain/Sourcing Department.

Responsibilities include:

· Reviewing and setting up material on new jobs as well as updating existing jobs as needed after set up.

· Using system tools to assist in the Quarterly Variance Review Process.

· Reviewing and processing requisitions submitted.

· Reviewing and processing material transfers.

· Reviewing and processing job to job transfers.

· Updating material on jobs from ECN’s.

· Supporting the Supply Chain/Sourcing department as needed.

Associates degree required. Minimum of six months of related experience and/or training is also required. Must possess strong computer skills, including knowledge of MS- Office. Experience with MRP/ERP systems and previous manufacturing experience preferred.

Quality Control Engineer

This position shall act as the customer advocate and liaison for compliance to customer quality requirements and customer satisfaction through hosting surveillance audits and submitting customer required quality documentation. This position requires the ability to interpret and express customer requirements both direct product related as well as indirect process related.  This position requires skills in internal auditing, Root Cause/Corrective Action, help determining process improvement parameters, working knowledge of LEAN principles, understanding of performance metrics and statistical methods, and preparing reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data.  The successful candidate must be personable and able to interact with peers, management, and various customers efficiently and effectively. Possess effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to identify, analyze data and generate required reports.

Candidate must have 6+ years of quality engineering experience, preferably within a defense environment, a solid understanding in interpreting engineering specifications, mechanical drawings, and/or electrical schematics, as well as a strong understanding of quality management systems including ISO9001 and AS9100. Nationally recognized quality certification is desired, such as American Society for Quality Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ-CQE) certification. Minimum of Green Belt certification is preferred. Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in quality engineering or mechanical/industrial engineering required. Ability to obtain a security clearance is a must.  Additionally, the right candidate will need to participate and provide overall quality management guidance to team members with the goal of continuously improving the QMS. Firmware Engineer – Product Design

Works with a high performance team of engineers to design, develop and test high reliability and military electronic products. Previous experience developing and designing firmware for products or projects with embedded microprocessor control desired. Working knowledge of Texas Instruments C2000 Microcontrollers or similar TI parts and associated TI tools. Experience utilizing C++ programming languages, Code Composer Studio or Eclipse IDE. Subversion source code control system experience or equivalent like GitHub, Atlassian, …. Real-time operating system (RTOS) experience a plus. Experience implementing J1939 CAN communication buses on a microcontroller and the ability to create PC based GUI for communication testing of the CAN buses desired. Experience with PCAN-Basic or Explorer tools, or any CAN package from VECTOR, GUI: Microsoft Visual Studio. Experience with FPGAs, Microchip/Microsemi/Actel Libero suite and programming in VHDL. Design and programming of user displays using Red Loin Crimson 3.1 HMI IDE. Knowledgeable in the use of oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters and other hardware test equipment to support trouble shooting of the microcontroller interface. Ability to interpret hardware schematics and designs is required. Proficient software and hardware troubleshooting abilities. Hardware design skills to support microcontroller and FPGA circuit card design is preferred. Demonstrated ability to work utilizing customer specifications and interfacing with power engineers to determine the proper operation for the project is required. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and experience. Experience working at or with military requirements or military prime contractors utilizing customer specifications and interfacing with power electronics engineers is a plus.
