Bill of Material Specialist
Espey is currently seeking a Bill of Material Specialist. This position requires the strictest attention to detail and accuracy, clearly communicated and coordinated efforts involving all the activities within the Engineering department. Duties include researching data, interpreting engineering information, writing product descriptions and theory of operations, and incorporating changes. Candidate will also be responsible for part maintenance and Bill of Material (BOM) entry into the company ERP system. Must be a detail-oriented self-starter with good communication skills and willing to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Ability to work independently and in a small team environment is important. Candidate will clearly communicate progress and coordinate team management efforts involving all assigned activities. Electrical or Mechanical engineering knowledge is a plus. Must have previous experience in an administrative setting.

Paint Sprayer
The ideal candidate will have minimum 2 years’ work experience in industrial paint spraying of manufactured products. Candidate must be familiar with the entire finishing process including preparation of work surface, selection and mixing of coating to produce desired viscosity, maintenance and cleaning of all spray equipment including HVLP paint guns, housekeeping and organization of work area. The expectation is that work will be performed in a consistent manner to cover product quickly and evenly with appropriate coating. The ability to read drawings, bill of materials, and specifications is a plus. This position may lift 35 to 50 lbs. consistently throughout the day. Use of respirator is required and candidate must pass a respirator fit test.

QC Inspector
The successful candidate would inspect assemblies, subassemblies, and components to validate compliance with specifications, drawings, blueprints, production details, and governing inspection procedures and manuals. Must have a minimum of two years QC inspection experience with electrical and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, circuit card assemblies, and miscellaneous parts. Candidate should be competent using calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, and basic electrical meters. Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 is preferred.

Traffic Manager
Espey is currently seeking a Traffic Manager to supervise the personnel in the Shipping and Receiving Departments. Responsibilities for the Traffic Manager include:
Determining the most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportation as well as identifying the best packing practices for various types of shipments. (Air, Ocean & Ground); Initiating investigations and determining corrective actions into causes of damages or shortages in consignments or overcharges for freight or insurance; Conducting studies in the areas of packaging, warehousing, and loading of commodities and evaluates existing procedures and standards and initiating changes designed to improve control and efficiency of traffic department; Negotiating contracts for leasing of transportation equipment or property and auditing freight bills before approval for payment.
Must train and certify all required personnel on the forklifts Also responsible for the execution of Packing requirements for Government Shipments in accordance with applicable specifications and ASTM Best Practices for commercial shipments.
Strong organizational skills required. Must be a High School graduate and have a minimum of 2 years of experience supervising in Shipping/Receiving department. Previous work with government contracts is preferred.

Mechanical Drafter
We are currently looking to add a Mechanical Drafter to our team. Candidate must have an Associate’s degree including Drafting/CAD courses and/or 4 yrs+ related experience. Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks is required. The ideal candidate will have experience with MIL and ANSI drawing requirements and have a working knowledge of ASME Y14.5. The drafter will work with Engineering to create fabrication and assembly drawings for military and industrial power electronics including power supplies and transformers. The position requires someone that is detail oriented, ensures accuracy, works well in a fast paced setting and thrives in a team environment. Experience with 2-D AutoCad is a plus, to be able to support drawing changes on legacy designs.

Transformer Design Engineer
The Transformer Design Engineer is responsible for the design of new transformers from conception to full scale production. Develop estimates based on customer Statements of Work (SOW) and performance specifications. Work directly with production, program management office, quality, and other departments as technical advisor to maintain product flow and positive customer relations. Project development cycles range from a few weeks to over a year depending on the product type and scope of project. Team member’s roles are defined uniquely for each project, with experienced engineers sometimes assuming role of Project Lead based on engineer’s interests and capabilities. Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably with at least 5 years of experience in transformer and magnetic devices is required. Experience in ruggedized products for Military applications is a plus. Experience in designs with BIL requirements up to 15kV class and knowledge of dry type transformers up to 5MVA, preferred. Knowledge of ANSI/IEEE standards and experience with military standards such as MIL-E-917 is also preferred.

Electronics Tester

Lead Solderer II/Assembler
Must have the ability to read blue prints. Must have familiarity with hand tools such as screwdrivers, wire cutters, pliers and soldering irons. Ideal candidate has 1+ years of soldering experience. Quality Control Engineer
This position shall act as the customer advocate and liaison for compliance to customer quality requirements and customer satisfaction through hosting surveillance audits and submitting customer required quality documentation. This position requires the ability to interpret and express customer requirements both direct product related as well as indirect process related. This position requires skills in internal auditing, Root Cause/Corrective Action, help determining process improvement parameters, working knowledge of LEAN principles, understanding of performance metrics and statistical methods, and preparing reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data. The successful candidate must be personable and able to interact with peers, management, and various customers efficiently and effectively. Possess effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to identify, analyze data and generate required reports.
Candidate must have 6+ years of quality engineering experience, preferably within a defense environment, a solid understanding in interpreting engineering specifications, mechanical drawings, and/or electrical schematics, as well as a strong understanding of quality management systems including ISO9001 and AS9100. Nationally recognized quality certification is desired, such as American Society for Quality Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ-CQE) certification. Minimum of Green Belt certification is preferred. Environmental Test Technician
The successful candidate must have experience performing tests on various electronic components and have the ability to interpret and follow standard test methods (MIL, ASTM, etc.), customer purchase specifications, internal test procedures, work instructions, technical schematics, and engineering drawings to perform testing on products in production as well as qualification units and prototypes for risk mitigation. This includes mechanical/fluid test setups, electrical test setups, data acquisition equipment, thermocouples, transducers, controllers and control loops etc.

Supplier Quality Control Engineer
Espey is currently seeking a Quality Control Engineer to interface with vendors for audits and surveillance. Will be responsible for reviewing all POs before issuance to ensure required quality flow downs from customer PO to vendor are executed as well as communicating any First Article Inspections or special quality notes. Will be the Quality Control liaison for vendor non-conformance and Corrective Action Reports. Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience is preferred.

Engineering Test Specialist
The successful candidate will complete test setup, troubleshooting, data collection and analysis; drafts and submits test reports for customer submittals. Will produce, review and edit documentation such as work instructions, ATPs, QTPs, safety protocols, workflow diagrams and test cell SOPs. Will be responsible for determining test requirements to maintain, repair, troubleshoot, monitor, and operate high voltage electrical systems including, but not limited to, transformers, switching stations, circuit breakers and stored energy systems. Will review and analyze a variety of engineering data, proposals, customer specifications, documents, and reports to determine testing requirements and will then provide input into proposals as needed. The Engineering Test Specialist consults with design engineers to ensure that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application, and recommend revisions, as appropriate. Will regularly interface with Engineering, Production, and with customers.
Bachelors degree or related equivalent experience is preferred. Previous experience with the use of test equipment such as: oscilloscopes, power quality meters, insulation resistance testers, high potential testers, phase rotation meters and digital test equipment is required. Experience in troubleshooting electrical circuits, circuit boards and systems is also required. Some travel will be required, up to 10% annually.

Porter
The ideal candidate works well independently, has good time management skills and provides support to the Maintenance team as needed. Position entails keeping assigned areas of office and/or factory clean, including the washrooms. They will collect and dispose rubbish and ensure all assigned areas are free from clutter and safe. Electrical Engineer – Power Electronics Product Design
The successful candidate possess a BSEE and have 5+ years experience and demonstrated ability in developing and supporting power supply or power systems with embedded firmware. A background in new product development for embedded microprocessor based systems with experience developing and designing of firmware for electronics to provide control of hardware based power systems is required. Experience with J1939 CAN communication and the ability to create PC based GUI for communication testing of communication buses needed. Ability to interpret hardware schematics and designs is required. Successful candidate will have proficient software and hardware troubleshooting abilities.
