Shipping/Receiving Clerk

Must have knowledge and experience in shipping and receiving. Responsibilities include verifying incoming shipments, reviewing packing slips, and counting material (hand and scale counts). Will interact with freight carriers regularly, as well as pack all outbound products and conduct all necessary shipping entries. Detailed data entry. Must be able to accurately transfer information from packing slips to receipt entry. Must have a valid driver’€™s license and will be expected to successfully complete the forklift certification, including the ability to operate the fork lift. This position requires lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly. Must have excellent computer skills including the ability to utilize various software packages to process shipments. *

Expeditor

Espey is currently seeking an Expeditor to join our team. The Expeditor is responsible for handling the RMA process and ensuring timely delivery of parts to the production floor. Responsibilities will include:   Weekly scheduling reviews with various vendors to ensure deliveries are shipped and received according to the established commitments; Ensuring the First Article Testing acknowledgement is completed within the time constraints allowed ensuring that the overall production schedule is not impacted; Contacting vendors to requisition materials; Arranging for distribution of materials upon arrival; Maintaining the “sub-contract status” report showing material scheduled to be shipped to various sub/contractors; Communicating across the organization any vendor issues that may affect production and delivery to the customer.  Mitigate as much as possible all issues to remain on schedule.

High School diploma is required.  Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong organizational skills required. Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.          **Must be US Citizen** EOE

Quality Control Inspector

The successful candidate will inspect assemblies, subassemblies and components to validate compliance with specifications, drawings, blueprints, production details and governing inspection procedures and manuals. Must have a minimum of 2 years QC inspection experience with electrical and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, circuit card assemblies and miscellaneous parts. Candidate should be competent using calipers, height gauges, thread gauges and basic electrical meters.

Working knowledge of AS 9100, ISO 9001 and mechanical calibration preferred.

Production Test Supervisor

Espey Mfg. & Electronics Corp. is currently seeking a Production Test Supervisor.  The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of workers engaged in testing finished and semi-finished products as well as leading the in-house service team to determine if physical properties meet manufacturing specifications.  Will be supervising the team that is responsible for designing, building, troubleshooting, maintaining and supporting production test equipment, ATEs, facilities, and test cells. Will review production schedules to ascertain work load and prepare schedules and priorities for work.

Associates degree is preferred.  Minimum of 2 years of related experience in electronics and/or a military setting is required.

Stock Clerk

The Stock Clerk will effectively manage daily inventory control.  Responsibilities include: Pulling necessary material out of stock by following each verbal or printed request, pick list, material transfer, etc. using the FIFO (First In First Out) method; properly maintaining paperwork for shortages and the transfer or issuance of stock material; ensuring materials are stored in an orderly and accessible manner and keeping similar parts in the same area within the stockroom; counting material using a scale to verify amount and match it to the printed request or verbal instruction; bag and tag the material to ensure proper labeling; deliver material to the proper department and obtain necessary signatures; assist in counting of physical inventory. Will be responsible for entering information from various paperwork sources into a database system to generate the appropriate corresponding transaction. Will also use a database system to research discrepancies, answer questions regarding materials, and route incoming material to the correct location (stock bin or production department).

Supplier Quality Control Engineer

Espey is currently seeking a Quality Control Engineer to interface with vendors for audits and surveillance.  Will be responsible for reviewing all POs before issuance to ensure required quality flow downs from customer PO to vendor are executed as well as communicating any First Article Inspections or special quality notes.  Will be the Quality Control liaison for vendor non-conformance and Corrective Action Reports.  Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience is preferred.

Production Supervisor

Espey Mfg. & Electronics Corp. is currently seeking a Production Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of workers engaged in various stages of the production of electronic components..  Will also be responsible for taking disciplinary actions as necessary, maintaining employees’ time and labor tracking, and developing/implementing programs designed to promote safety and quality objectives. Ideal candidate has experience with 5S, Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, and previous experience supervising production of electronic components. Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as demonstrate time management skills and flexibility to thrive in a fast paced environment. Computer proficiency is necessary to plan and establish work schedules, assignments and production sequences to meet production goals. Associates degree is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of related experience in electronics and/or a military setting is required.

Impregnator

  • Must be comfortable with use and mixing of varnishes, solvents, sealants, oils, coatings, and epoxies.
  • Tasks include dipping, encapsulating, applying, and submerging assemblies in varnishes, coatings, transformer oil, and encapsulants.
  • Requires safety glasses at all times, and may require use of safety apparatus such as gloves, hot-mitts, apron, respirator, or dust mask.
  • Able to accurately measure materials by weight or volume and mix as required by process specification or manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Labeling of all secondary-containers so dispensed/transferred material maintains traceability.
  • Ability to read and understand product specifications (prints), process specifications, material data sheets, and manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver weights up to 35 pounds and utilize overhead hoist or crane for heavier products.
  • Able to safely operate overhead hoists and cranes to lift and lower product, as well as pallet jacks for moving product as needed.
  • Requires loading and unloading of racks and fixtures used in the processing of products.
  • Use of hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, blades, measuring tape, calipers, cutters, scissors, and punches.
  • Use of power tools such as vacuum cleaner, die grinder, grinding/wire wheel, drill-press, impact driver, and hydraulic press.
  • Able to set operating parameters and time intervals of ovens, vacuum chambers, and vacuum pumps.
  • Preparing product for processing by installing fixtures and/or clamping devices as well as application of masking and mold-release compounds.
  • Cleaning fixtures and associated hardware, plates, and trays as required.
  • Cleaning of product post-processing in order to remove excess varnish, resin, epoxy, and encapsulants.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, ovens, vacuum chambers, and overall department area.
  • Maintaining equipment logs and maintenance records.
  • Use of computer for clocking in and out, logging in and out of job operations, and taking counts for completed tasks. Must add notes for explanation as required.

Bill of Material Specialist

Espey is currently seeking a Bill of Material Specialist.  This position requires the strictest attention to detail and accuracy, clearly communicated and coordinated efforts involving all the activities within the Engineering department. Must have the ability to support the creation of technical manuals, procedures, reports and other technical documentation in Microsoft Office applications. Duties include researching data, interpreting engineering information, writing product descriptions and theory of operations, creating maintenance procedures, editing materials, and incorporating changes. Candidate will also be responsible for part maintenance and Bill of Material (BOM) entry into the company ERP system.  Must be detail-oriented self-starter and willing to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Ability to work independently and in a small team environment is important. Candidate will clearly communicate progress and coordinate team management efforts involving all assigned activities. Electrical or Mechanical engineering knowledge is a plus with relevant experience in power supply/transformer/military applications. Must have Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent technical education and 2+ years of experience working in a power electronics environment performing technical writing duties.  Experience with SolidWorks modeling and creating manufacturing and assembly drawings is a plus.

Electrical Engineer

Espey is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in electronic power conversion or distribution assemblies, preferably military rugged electronic assemblies and with test and troubleshooting experience.  Must be familiar with electronic components, such as transformers, capacitors, resistors, semiconductor devices and assemblies used in electronic equipment.  Software/Firmware design experience, embedded microprocessor controlled systems experience and PLC Programming or Lab-View Experience is preferred. The ability to interpret hardware schematics and designs is required.

The Electrical Engineer will work with product design engineers to develop and document plans and procedures to verify compliance to customer specifications. Will  be responsible for incorporating electrical design verification portions of procedures that have been written by design engineers into procedure documents. Responsibilities will also include developing plans for sequence and location of testing; obtaining quotes for outsourced tests as well as scheduling and coordinating testing.

Additional responsibilities will include: designing, building, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing test fixtures, cables and test setups. Will also work with programmable data acquisition systems, PC based Data Logging and programmable power supplies and load banks.

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent military experience with electronic equipment required.

Large Magnetics Assembly III

The successful candidate must accurately build transformers and other assemblies to prints, drawings, work instructions, travelers or other method of instruction with supervision. Must verify usable condition of all tools; ensure equipment calibration is valid prior to use, and use calibrated measuring devices to check dimensions to confirm assembly meets drawings and prints. Must setup and assemble cores and/or steel lamination and insulating separators into wound coils using banding, stacking, interleaving, and other techniques as required. Must prepare wire connections by forming, sanding, scraping, tinning, insulating and/or other methods for connection to terminals or other points of contact and also prepare surfaces using silicones or other surface treatments, as indicated by documentation. Utilize solder irons, torches, epoxies, and/or tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, pliers, clamps, etc.) to form and make connections, fasten metal objects together, and assemble parts to form units or subassembly parts, or mounts subassemblies on panel or in cabinet. Clean and inspect terminal connections for flaws and correct as needed. Assemble wires to terminals, lugs, and/or terminal boards utilizing crimping tools and other tools as needed. Must assemble or dis-assemble electronic components, mechanical components, subassemblies, and/or systems and make mechanical adjustments to work, including unit rework, repair or modifications.

CNC Programmer/Operator

Must have experience with operating CNC milling machines, selecting and setting up tools (end mills, drills, taps and other tools). Must be able to plan, program, set up and operate multiple machines. Ideal candidate has ability to apply interpretations into programming, set up and operation of CNC machines. Familiarity with set up and operation of various machinery including Haas VF4-SS, Feature-Cam, and G and M code programming. Formal training a plus. Candidate will be able to set up and operate the following machine tools: CNC Milling machines, drills, lathes, milling machines, saws and shears, while working from blueprints or verbal orders with a minimum amount of supervision. Experience with a CMM and Calypso CAM Software a plus. High School diploma or equivalent required.

Potter

Will be required to position module or transformer case under outlet of tank containing encapsulation fluid. Moves controls to force preset amount of fluid through opening in module or transformer case.   Will place components on rack, dip rack in encapsulating fluid and hand rack on drying frame or in oven to harden sealing compound. Must weigh out quantities of powered or liquid dyes and chemicals, following formula sheet.  EOE

Power Supply Design Engineer

The successful candidate possess a BSEE and have 5+ years experience and demonstrated ability in developing and supporting power supply designs and products for high reliability and military applications. Experience with power levels >1KW, AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC. The individual must understand and be able to develop switch-mode power supplies using various topologies and techniques to achieve an efficient, reliable, EMI/EMC compliant design. Experience with rugged/military designs, thermal packaging and layout of power electronics is required. Good writing and communication skills including technical presentations, technical write-ups, risk analysis, failure rate prediction and analysis, test procedures and reports, etc. are required. The candidate will be expected to thrive in a small company atmosphere where they will be involved with proposing solutions to customer specifications, through development, test and production support of power conversion products.
